In the home stretch now. If all goes well — and I have no reason to think that it won’t — we’ll be back in our own home in Kensington on Friday. Only two more appointments left at Stanford: labs and a bone marrow biopsy today, and an appointment with the Stanford doctor on Thursday.
The bone marrow biopsy (not pleasant; they drill down into my hip bone, suck out some marrow, and cut out a small piece of bone) will be the first indication of how well the KLN-1010 treatment has worked so far against my myeloma.
There was another report today about the results of KLN-1010 on additional patients (the count is up to 18, which I don’t think includes me). The news continues to be good: limited side effects and very good myeloma-fighting results. No patients have grown horns or tails to date.
I’m looking forward to a June where I continue to get back into shape and start feeling more like my old self. Although we’ve stayed in a pleasant place, there’s no place like home. And I miss Mr. Spark.
