I Keep Rolling Along

It’s now D+12 and I continue to do great. No side-effect symptoms at all. We had an appointment at Stanford on Saturday for labs and vitals. Everything was normal except my sodium, so now I’m happily putting extra salt on my food per the nurse’s order. They said that Days 10 – 12 were often the times that side effects would appear, and that the other lady who got her treatment the same day was experiencing a few. But so far, not me.

This morning Suzie and I went on a 1.75 mile walk, finding our way to a small park with a off-leash area for dogs. The neighborhood to the north of the business area is more residential, mostly small houses from the mid-1900s. If you’re thinking about moving here, you can have this 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1500 square-foot home for just under four million dollars. Ridiculous.

We are also experiencing spillover from the three-night set of concerts at relatively nearby Stanford Stadium by the Korean pop group BTS. Lots of groups of young, primarily Asian females roaming about, lots of traffic. I wanted to get tickets but Suzie put the kibosh on that, supposedly for health reasons.

Our son Will is graduating from his LVN program today. Suzie is driving to Sacramento to participate, but I’m not supposed to be more than 1 hour away from the Stanford Hospital, so I’ll miss it. It’s been a challenging road for Will but he has shown amazing drive, persistence, resolve, and stick-to-itiveness. He put his head down and worked hard and is now closer to his goal of being an RN. I’m super proud of him.

I neglected to mention a small concern I have about my treatment. I’m feeling a slight knob growing in the middle of my forehead. The top of it looks the “velvet” that covers the places where horns grow on deer. I hope it goes away, but if not, I’ll just have to live with it.

  1. I think it’s good look for you.

  2. I’ve only seen the forehead abnormalty in 4 patients in my career. Steve, you make 5. The long lasting effects without a doubt is increasingly nerdy!😊. Let’s get through this time without the side effects!
I’m so happy to hear about Will!! I’d love to send him a card (& hug). If you could send me his address I’d appreciate it! Thank you!!
